About the Internet of Things Security Council
With the number of connected devices in the market expected to reach 21 billion by the year 2020, the industry is at a critical turning point where there is a need to ensure that security is a top priority in Internet of Things implementations. As an organization with a history of bringing industries together to move technologies forward, the Secure Technology Alliance, formerly the Smart Card Alliance, is taking the initiative to bring the same positive impact to IoT to address top-of-mind IoT security and privacy concerns.
As part of this effort, the Alliance formed the Internet of Things Security Council, which provides a single forum where all industry stakeholders can network, share implementation experiences, and discuss applications and security approaches, as well as provide best practices and education to the industry to promote security and privacy.
The council focuses on IoT markets where security, safety and privacy are key requirements, and leverages the expertise and knowledge gained from implementing embedded security technology across other industries to provide practical guidance for secure IoT implementations.
